Language Arts
This year in Reading, students will be digging deeper into a variety of texts, including narratives and informational texts. They will be utilizing many skills to demonstrate understanding of a particular text, including asking and answering questions, describing characters in a story, determining a story's theme, determining the main idea of a text, using text features and search tools to locate information relevant to a given topic, and more.
This year in Writing, students will be learning how to write a myriad of different pieces, such as a personal narrative, opinion pieces on topics or texts, and informative/explanatory texts to examine a topic and convey ideas and information clearly.

Theology
This year in Theology, students will be learning more about Creed, Sacraments, Moral Development, Prayer and Worship, Saints, and Scripture. Here at St. Margaret's, students are provided with a myriad of opportunities to grow in their faith.

For both 3rd and 4th grade Math, we use the Big Ideas Mathematics series. This series engages students in activities that are related to real-world situations.

Social Studies
In regard to 4th grade Social Studies, students will be learning more about the history of the U.S.; geography; civics and government (purposes of government, core democratic values and principles of American democracy, structure and functions of government, and the role of the citizen in American democracy); economics (market, international, and national); and public discourse, decision making, and citizen involvement.

In regard to 4th grade Science, students will be learning about physical science (energy and waves as well aster application in technologies for information transfer); life sciences (from molecules to organisms: animal and plant structures and processes); earth and space sciences; and engineering, technology, and application of science.
